Assalaamu alaikum Sidi,

I am rarely"online"
anymore but happened to visit your blog this morning. "Song of Departures" reflects alot of what life has been like lately, arrivals and departures. So much letting go and so much more to let go of, and yet not forgetting to warmly welcome.

9/18 is my birthday.

Thank you Sidi.

wasalaam.

Deborah, thank you for your so sensitive response. It illuminated the poem for me too (the one who writes these poems is the "night" one, I'm his "day " rep.) And may He bless your friend's passage and assuage those left behind. For us it's all a "die before you die" affair...

I had a friend pass this week, so when I first read this poem, my thoughts were on death, life reflection and crossing over.

All morning I pondered and pondered on this poem, until I realized that I had come to a place where the windows looked in, and I hadn't even realized that I had left.
